Our Story.
Hi, we’re Max and Yasara, and welcome to Schneidx Automotive!
Schneidx started from a shared passion for cars, engineering, and helping people. We’re a small local workshop built on honesty, problem-solving, and creating a space where people feel involved in their car’s journey.
Max has loved working on cars and motorbikes since a very young age, spending weekends repairing dirt bikes and cars with his dad and always wanting to understand how things worked. What began as a hobby soon grew into a lifelong passion. While building a career as a Mechanical Engineer, Max also dedicated his spare time to offering auto care support within his local community..
Now a chartered mechanical engineer and qualified mechanic, Max has spent years refining his skills in mechanical design, vehicle diagnostics, welding and fabrication, vehicle testing and road safety, product development, risk analysis & advanced simulations with industry-leading companies. His expertise spans both the practical and technical sides of auto care, having worked extensively on drivetrain and chassis systems, suspension, GVM upgrades, and rig durability testing. For his Mechanical Engineering thesis, he developed a custom planetary hub-motor gearbox for the RMIT Formula SAE electric vehicle, successfully striking a balance between innovation and practical knowledge.
For us, Schneidx has never just been about qualifications or ticking boxes. We’ve always loved working with people who genuinely care about their cars, the ones with questions, stories, memories, or a real connection to their vehicle. That’s also what inspired our social media series, Parts in Perspective. It’s our way of showing what happens behind the scenes in the workshop, sharing old vs new parts, why things fail, and helping people feel more connected to the work done on their car.
In our first year, we were incredibly lucky to be welcomed into the space at Tyre Barn Clayton. Pali, the owner and a long-time family friend, believed in what we were trying to build and gave us the chance to slowly grow within the local community. We’ll always be grateful for the support and encouragement he gave us in those early days. Since the beginning of 2026, we’ve proudly called our own workshop in Springvale home. Even as we continue to grow, our focus has stayed the same, caring for people and their cars, staying curious, and always striving to do our best.
Coming from different cultural backgrounds has naturally shaped the way we run Schneidx. Max grew up in a German household and speaks fluent German, Italian, and English, while Yasara comes from a Sri Lankan background and speaks Sinhalese and English and we think that’s given us a strong appreciation for different people, perspectives, and experiences. Because of that, creating a welcoming and respectful environment has always been important to us.
At the end of the day, Schneidx is about more than just repairing or modifying cars. It’s about building trust, sharing knowledge, and creating genuine connections along the way. Whether you’re here for a repair, diagnosis, engineering support, or even just a coffee and chat, you’re always welcome here.
